#1| How to get in touch with a Wedding Planner?

The easiest way is to use the contact form available on their website. Usually, it consists of a few questions that will help them understand your request. You can also contact them via email, Instagram, or even directly through WhatsApp. Use the channel that makes you feel the most comfortable!

#2| When is the ideal time to hire a Wedding Planner?

For a complete organization, aim for 1 to 2 years before your ideal date. The earlier, the better; you’ll be able to secure your favorite vendors without having to deal with their busy schedules.

For day-of coordination, no need to panic. You can sign the contract between 3 and 6 months before your wedding!

#3| What budget should I allocate for my wedding?

A tricky question… It all depends on the style of wedding you desire! Arriving by helicopter will clearly have a different budget compared to arriving by car. However, there is an average budget for weddings with a Wedding Planner. Expect a budget starting from €28,000 for around a hundred guests.

#4| Will you be present on our wedding day?

Make sure to ask your Wedding Planner if their presence is included in the contract! Some professionals offer day-of coordination as an optional service.

As for me, it’s a resounding YES! I don’t see the point of organizing your wedding and not being there on the big day to ensure that everything goes smoothly! A paper timeline is one thing, but being present in the moment with all its contingencies is another.

#5| Do you work alone or with a team?

It’s important to ask this question to know if the person you’re hiring will be alone in managing the wedding day or not.

I always work alone during the preparation phase. I am the “brain” behind the organization. However, on the wedding day, I always bring in an assistant to help me and allow me to be in two places at once during key moments of the day!

#6| What are your responsibilities?

It’s essential for you to know what tasks your wedding planner handles! No, a wedding planner does NOT set up your decorations. Their role is to organize your wedding: presenting you with ideal vendors, assisting you with the preparations, managing your budget, creating the timeline for your big day, coordinating the teams, and more.

Believe me, on the wedding day, your professional will have multiple tasks to keep them occupied. Setting up decorations won’t allow them to fulfill their duties!

#7| I’m afraid of not having control over my choices…

This is one of the biggest misconceptions. The role of a wedding planner is to suggest vendors who meet your expectations and values. They do not make decisions for you. You remain in control of your choices!

Of course, they have a network of trusted professionals they work with. But it’s up to you to choose them or not!

#8| How can we be sure that you will manage our budget?

Here’s the best advice I can give you: trust your wedding planner. From the beginning, ask them to show you the tools they use and possibly provide a budget from previous couples. This will reassure you of their transparency. During the various preparation meetings you have with them, ask about the budget if you’re genuinely concerned.

Personally, I work with a 24/7 accessible online drive for my clients. The tools are updated as the project progresses. This helps reassure everyone, including the mother-in-law ;)

#9| How many clients do you take on per year?

Are you worried about whether your wedding planner will truly be available for you throughout the preparations? Well, this question will put your mind at ease!

I only take on a maximum of 10 complete weddings per year! I want to remain as available as possible for my clients at all times. And, of course, pay attention to the important details!

#10| THE BONUS QUESTION: Are you married?

I was quite surprised the first time someone asked me this question. But ultimately, it holds real significance for future couples. Who better than a married person to understand the soon-to-be married couples? The anxieties, the stress, the desire to please their guests. Pure emotions that will be experienced throughout the preparations, and your wedding planner will anticipate them even better if they’ve been through it themselves!

I hope this FAQ answers your initial questions. However, it’s ideal to communicate with the wedding planners you reach out to. We all have different personalities and approaches to the profession!
